As strange and awkward as it looked, Apple’s iPhone X started a new trend by introducing an oddly placed notch on the front. While critics seemed skeptical of the idea, iPhone enthusiasts gladly embraced it, which led the notorious notch to gain so much traction that many other smartphone manufacturers introduced their own versions of similar looking smartphones to capitalize on the iPhone X’s success. In fact, the notch is so popular that we had to compile this list of 7 best-notched smartphones. You can buy mobile phone outright.
1. Vivo V9
Vivo is a Chinese smartphone manufacturer that first gained popularity with its in-display fingerprint scanner. The manufacturer offers a few phones that sport the notch but its V9 is by far it’s best-notched offering. The phone has an HD+ display screen at a massive size of 6.3-inches. It also houses a 25MP front cam for those great looking selfies and also holds dual shooters in the rear, a common feature present in many flagship smartphones today.
2. Xiaomi Mi 8
Another Chinese manufacturer, Xiaomi has been making waves for all the right reasons. After adopting the notch design, Xiaomi also launched a number of phones but Mi 8 remains one of its best phones with a notch. The Mi 8 not only has an unbelievable 6.21-inch AMOLED display but also has face unlocking feature. Unfortunately, it’s currently only available in China with no announcements about global availability.
3. LG G7 ThinQ
LG isn’t new at delivering innovation and manages to does so even with the notch. With the G7, LG while embracing the notch, has also given smartphone purists a way to hide it and maintain the classic look at will. The G7 is souped up with an OS feature that enables the users to hide the notch by blacking out the top of the screen to match the notch.
4. OnePlus 6
Known as the flagship killer, with its design elements matching some of the highest level flagship phones, the OnePlus 6 also adopted the notch. It is one of the very few phones that offers a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio.
5. ZenFone 5
A saving grace for those who wish to own an iPhone X but do not want to pay the high price, the Asus ZenFone 5 is a true clone of the former albeit it runs Android. If you do not fancy the iOS and only want the look, the ZenFone is available at half the price.
6. Essential Phone PH-1
Many credit Apple for the introduction of the notch. While Apple did popularize it, it wasn’t the first company to launch a phone with a notch. The notch was first seen on the Essential PH-1 although a little less exaggerated. The PH-1 still remains one of the best options to get if you fancy a phone with a notch.
You can now buy the mobile phone outright with best value mobile plans. Check them out.
7. iPhone XS
This entry on the list is rather obvious but for many unobvious reasons. It is the only phone that used the notch for more than just aesthetics. It houses the front-facing camera as well as the face ID sensors.
