The digital thermometer has a display, and a reading of the temperature is shown on display. An infrared thermometer is a little bit advanced. An infrared thermometer uses a laser to measure the temperature. You can use these meters to measure when your loved ones go through a fever usually.

You can also use thermometers on the children. There are also some of the best-infrared forehead thermometers for adults. What you have to know is the difference to pick the right thermometer for you.

#1. Measuring System

Infrared forehead thermometers have a laser that you have to shoot on the forehead from a diameter distance. You cannot use this thermometer from a 1-meter distance and get an accurate result. It uses the radiation coming from your forehead and gives you an accurate result.

When it comes to digital thermometers, you may already know how to use them. You got to put the silver end inside your mouth or out under the arm to get the best results.

#2. Better Accuracy

The infrared thermometer has better accuracy. It uses the laser and gives you the exact temperature. But there is a condition to it. You have to place the thermometer close to the forehead. If you put it far from the forehead, then the result will not be accurate.

The digital thermometer is accurate enough, but the infrared one will steal the show. The digital thermometer gives a variety of results on different parts of the body. It can give you the best reading when put into the oral section. It can give you the least reading when put under the armpit.

#3. Where to Use

The digital meter is mainly used to measure fever around the world. But you can also measure the temperature of the milk you are giving to your baby. It will be helpful to you in measuring different fluid temperatures.

On the contrary infrared thermometers are mainly used in airports for the vast peoples’ measurements, because it is fast. However, you can also use it in your industry or factory if there are any hot spots or not. Also, you can use it to measure the suitable temperature for vegetable growth.

#4. User Safety

Beware of this. This is important. Try to avoid using the same digital thermometer for everyone. Even if it is too necessary to clean perfectly right after someone’s use. Remember always sanitize your thermometer with antibiotics every time you use it. You don’t want your child to get affected by your disease.

The Infrared meter is relatively much safer. You don’t have to contact the body parts, so there is no chance of getting spreading diseases. You may get some irritating feeling on your skin or eyes by using the IR meter. The IR meter uses a laser, so if you use too much power laser to measure your child’s fever, she might face some serious damage.

Finally, try to find the one that you need. Don’t go for the industrial IR meter to measure fever. You can
